Easter ‘Basket’ Collection

Easter BasketAs part of our Lenten offering for those in need, we invite you to join in “an offering of food” for the Berea Food Bank.

As a parish, we have been very generous in preparing and distributing Christmas Baskets – one of the highlights of our year at St. Clare’s. But now as Easter approaches, and we are told that the Food Bank has seen extraordinary use so far this year, we hope to respond by creating one large Easter Basket with food that can be distributed as needed to those who are looking to have a nice Easter dinner for their families.

The food will be collected on Palm Sunday Weekend (April 12-13th), and taken to the Food Bank on that Monday – right at the start of the Holiest Week of the Church Year… as a significant sign of our gratitude for all that God has blessed us with.

Please consider bringing items that you would serve to your family for Easter dinner. There will be a large box in the Narthex on Palm Sunday Weekend, ready to receive your offerings. Thank you for your generosity!

If you use FaceBook, you can check there to see what the critical needs are for that week. To give you an idea, this week they are asking especially for the following items:

  • Fresh Fruit
  • Fresh Juice
  • Peanut Butter
  • Cereal
  • Canned veggies especially greens

(A note from the Food bank) Thank you all for helping make it possible for us to help others. Together we are making a difference for our neighbors in need.
