The founding Catholic Charities Board of Directors of the Diocese of Lexington, a man who was instrumental in bringing Catholic Charities to the Diocese of the Lexington and a Catholic Charities employee are winners of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Lexington’s 2014 Sister Fran Moore Award. A dinner to honor them will be held Thurs-day, February 20, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Hehman Hall at the Cathe-dral of Christ the King.
To be honored are the 15 individuals who, 25 years ago, nurtured the agency during its transition from a branch office of Covington’s Catholic Charities to an independent entity following the creation of the Diocese of Lexington.
The award, named for the agency’s longest-serving director, Sister of Divine Providence Frances Moore, allows Catholic Charities to rec-ognize individuals who by their involvement with CCDL as a board or staff member, volunteer or contributor have helped advance the agen-cy’s mission to “empower and assist residents of the Diocese of Lexing-ton to improve with quality of life.”
Cost to attend the awards dinner is $40 per person. Tickets may be purchased by contacting Cindy Mitchell at Catholic Charities, 859-253-1993 ext. 214 or via the agency’s website: www.catholiccharitieslexington.org.
